Our Mission

"THE FINISHING OF THE WORK," is a phrase we have heard so often that we may believe it is our work and that we must finish it. But it is ours only to the extent that we are His. He will finish the work; we can be only the channels of His grace.

"The greatest of violinists can evoke more music from some poor instrument yielded to him than the finest Stradivarius locked up in a glass case. God can do infinitely more with the humblest and weakest of us who are utterly surrendered to Him, than He can do with all the natural talent or acquired ability that is not wholly consecrated." We do not belittle the efficiency of organization, nor the benefit of high-tech equipment, sufficient funds, or genuine public relations; but they cannot take the place of the Holy Spirit.

"A Shepherd’s (sic) staff in the hand of a self-emptied and Spirit-filled Moses did for the deliverance of his people what his princely sword or scepter could not do. A slingshot and a pebble in the hands of a boy named David did for the deliverance of His people what all the military equipment and strategy of Israel could not do.

"What matters in the finishing of God's work is not who you are but Whose you are. 'Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts? Zechariah 4:6. He will finish His work, and He will use us as His instruments, but only as He has finished it first in our own hearts." To facilitate this work, that is our priority, that is our mission. John Wesley said "Give me ten men who fear nothing but God and hate nothing but sin, and I will set the world on fire!" We are calling a "Gideon Band" to cleanse "the soul temple of every defilement" (5T 214), who will in the crisis hour be "true as steel and firm as the granite rock" (4T 594). We must draw closely together, speak the same thing, and in this "unity of the Spirit" we shall have peace with God and blessed harmony among ourselves.
